Trailwise Travel is run by a small team of mountain leaders and outdoor enthusiasts based in Scotland. Our team splits its time between the office in Scotland, and checking on the trails we offer (you can probably guess which we prefer!).
Our founder, James Fathers, started Trailwise after many years working in the British outdoor travel industry. Regularly heading to the alps for summer walking holidays, a love of the outdoors culminated in a sabbatical of several months spent hiking through every alpine country. Afterwards, he decided to put all the knowledge gained to good use, and set up a company helping others find their own hiking adventures.
Today, we are a team lucky enough to plan holidays for a living, but we know that time is precious. When we are out there, we want to make the most of it every single time, and we would love to help you do the same.

We love planning trips to our favourite walking destinations in Europe and if this means creating the adventure of a lifetime for you - all the better! Our aim is to make it as easy as possible for you to find and book the right holiday. We will take care of every detail so all you need to do is buckle up and enjoy the ride!
Thinking of tomorrow
The wild and beautiful places of this earth have always mattered to us. As a travel business, we rely on unspoilt nature and welcoming communities. But we are also aware of the impact that our holidays have on our destinations, and the planet.
This is why we have decided to put responsible travel at the heart of our work.
For every holiday you book with us, we will donate to a re-wilding charity. And we want to make it easy for you to do your part as well: Whether you choose to offset your flights, use our free train booking service or go paperless.
This doesn’t mean that our holidays magically make the world a better place, but we hope to tread the fine line of seeing and enjoying the world while making sure that future generations will be able to do the same.
